What do you think of this baby boy name?

I am pregnant with my first child. I was thinking of naming him Nicholas Ryan. Do you think it is too "commen"? Will there be 5 or 6 Nicholas' in his class when he goes to school? What are your suggestions?

What do you think of this baby boy name?
I like it. I don't think there will be alot of Nicholas' in his class. Everybody's naming their kids "unique" names. Which basically means weird and spelled funny. I think he'll thank you later.
Reply:i think its a great name! my son is nicholas paul! i would keep the name!!
Reply:Its a really nice name go for it or go with Ryan Nicholas
Reply:Love Love Love it!! Nope there wont be 5 nicolas's there will however be 16 aidens. :) What a cute name! Congrats!
Reply:i love it u go gurl
Reply:Great name. Does it matter if they're 5 or 6 Nicholas' in the class? No. Your Nicholas will be unique even if they all dressed alike. Don't worry about it, it's a great name.
Reply:I like that name. I named my 3 month old son Nicholas Gregory.
Reply:I think it's a good name. Honestly, it's def. common. But if you like it, his name being common or not shouldn't matter =]
Reply:Yeah, that's a nice name :)
Reply:I like that name you should keep that name
Reply:Nicholas is definitely a common name. It ranked #17 in 2006, but even then, it was given to only .7% of baby boys. That means fewer than one in a hundred baby boys was named Nicholas (and fewer than one in two hundred total babies was named Nicholas). Your son shouldn't have five or six Nicholas's in his class when he starts school, but he will almost definitely know a few other Nicholas's growing up.

I am a teacher, and I know from experience that sometimes you end up with two (or more) children in a class with a name that isn't very common at all. Last year I taught two Stevens. (The year they were born, their name ranked #37). This year, my co-worker has two Cades (the year they were born, their name ranked #200). I once volunteered in a class with three Zoes! (The year they were born, their name ranked #790.) Some of this is regional, as well. The three Zoes were in Berkeley, where the name has been popular longer than in the rest of the country.

If you love the name Nicholas, you should go ahead and use it. If the Ryan part isn't named after someone, would you consider possibly giving him a less common middle name, just to set him apart from all the other Nicholas's he might know?
Reply:do you like the name Nick? coz thats what he will get callled anyway. Maybe Ryan Nicholas?

Nice name though.
Reply:honestly Nicholas is very Common, I have a step son whose name is Nicholas, and a few friends, etc. You might want to get a rare name. For Example I named my son maxamus
Reply:Nicholas is a common name, and he may have alot of other nicks in his class, but children always get nick names which will stick.. if you like the name go for it...
Reply:not bad but i think maybe you should just call him ryan. it doesn't matter if the name's too common, abnormal names are harder to pronounce and may not be accepted by others. as far as that name is concerned, it's usable.
Reply:I like the name.
Reply:It's super nice. Keep that name. Your child would luv it.
Reply:I would do Ryan first just because I like it better, and those aren't "too common" these days because they are not totally weird! haha Good luck!
Reply:thats not a really comman name anymore.

aiden is super comman now.
Reply:That's a gorgeous, strong, masculine name. You shouldn't worry about whether it's "too common" at any time...just choose a name that you'll always love and your child can live with at any age (and in any career!).
