Reply:Think of what the child may have to go through if he ever wants to get a good job. A good solid first name would be better. Then whatever unique middle you want to give would be good. Do you really want your child to be blue though. The name is the one thing that follows a person through the rest of their life. It can be a blessing or a curse so think of it heavily before you give him a name that he might regret the rest of his life.
Reply:Smurf?

or blue?
Reply:Artemius. Try it, Indigo Artemius. It rolls off the tongue like silk, doesn't it?

And sure, you could call him Indy. My 22 month old son's nickname is Bunny - everyone calls him that.

I like Indigo on its own - without a nickname. You could use Indy, though. But, that might remind some of indie flicks or car races. I am not saying they are bad, but a possible association that could arise.
Reply:Indigo Harrison

(call him Harrison......think of all the color jokes he is going to get being called Indigo)

My opinion!
Reply:Indigo Laverl nickname "Verl"
Reply:I think it would depend a lot on the last name. I suggest going with a family name as a middle name. I think when you have a strong, unique name a simple family name tends to work well as a middle (especially shorter, traditional names). I wouldn't worry about a nickname just yet. Unfortunately that will ultimately be left up to his friends, however, that doesn't mean you can't decide on your own nickname and hope it catches on. Good luck on your decision, I know how difficult it is.
